I’m happy with the crowd in Ohafia, senator Kalu is loved by all — APC chieftan

A chieftan of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, Hon. Ebere Ibekwe has hailed the people of Ohafia Local Government Area for the colourful reception accorded to the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu during his ward-to-ward tour in Ohafia on Wednesday.

Ibekwe stated this in Akanu in an interview with newsmen during Senator Kalu’s ward-to-ward tour in Ohafia Local Government Area.

He commended the people of Ohafia clan for showing Kalu the love he deserves by coming out en masse to welcome him, promising that the love would be translated to votes during the 2023 general elections.

“Amidst fanfare, Kalu was first received at Okon Aku, venue of the event for Okamu ward with thousands of constituents singing and praising his name for the development he brought to their communities.

“You can see that Kalu is loved by all. From Amangwu, Okon, Amuma Ndi Ibe, Asaga, Ebem, Akanu, Abia and so many other places, people were hailing and commending him for the numerous projects he has executed in Ohafia. You see the chiefs, women, youths and even children coming out to welcome him.

“It is a confirmation that he is on ground. It is going to be a landslide victory for Orji Uzor Kalu across the five Local Government Areas. You can see the massive crowd here. I am sincerely happy and overwhelmed with the numbers I’m seeing here,” he said.

Our correspondent reports that after departing Okon-Aku, Kalu proceeded to Asaga Ohafia where he met the entire community.

Amongst Kalu’s team were the Managing Director and Chief executive Officer of the Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe and the Public Complaints Commission, Commissioner Dr. Maduka Ukaegbu, former Speaker of the Abia House of Assembly, Chief Arua Arunsi amongst others.

Senator Kalu was briefly hosted by the council of chiefs at the village square presided by HRH. Eze Emmanuel Kalu Kalu Onugu the Ezeogo of Asaga Ohafia.

Addressing Kalu, Eze Emmanuel lauded his interventions in their community, stressing that the tenure of the Senator Kalu at the Senate has ushered good tidings into the community.

Minutes after the reception, Orji Kalu advanced to the public town hall where he was welcomed to a jubilant crowd of women and youth groups early seated and waiting for his arrival.

Enumerating his achievements and challenges at the Senate, Kalu explained that the current projects in the community were those catalogued in the 2019-2021 budget year. A major climax of the engagement was the presentation of farm produce of food items by the Bianko women Age Grade to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
