Igbo Youths International Youth Day Holds In Umuahia on Monday, 28th September, 2015. Key Leaders and Friends of Ndigbo to Attend
Press Release – The city of Umuahia , Abia state will be electrified on Monday, the 28th of September, 2015 as the Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth wing holds the IGBO YOUTH INTERNATIONAL DAY, The event will hold at Michael Okpara Auditorium , Umuahia .
The event will witness Lectures, solidarity messages, interactive forum, cultural display, Awards and the presentation of two books titled, “Ndigbo yesterday, today and tomorrow; the challenges before her youths” and “An economic empowerment strategy for Igbo Youths; A panacea for poverty alleviation in Igbo land”, written by Hon Chuks Ibegbu, the former Special Adviser to late Amb. Raph Uwechue, former President -General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo [image above] and also the President of the World Igbo leadership, education and cultural council, WILECC.
The chairman of the occassion is Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the Former Governor of Anambra state. The Key Guest speaker is Prof. Hillary Edeoga, the Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University, Umudike, Umuahia. Other speakers include Prof May Nwoye, the former Registrar of University of Benin, Mr Kaka Chukwumerije, the son of former Senator Uche Chukwumerije, Dr Greg Ibeh, the Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu, Prof Aja Kpuru Aja of the Abia state University, and many distinguished speakers.
The Governor of Abia state Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is expected to give a goodwill message while the Governors of the South East, Delta, Rivers and other state will grace the occassion.
Before then the cultural train of the popular Awka based actor survival will walk round the streets of major Igbo state capitals to herald the event. On the 29th of September, the climax of the IGBO DAY CEREMONY will hold at Enugu.
