An Igbo man, name withheld, has provided clothing for 30 destitute children, generally called “Almajiris” in Kano.

This was disclosed by a tweep, Mr. Sahabo Usman, on his Twitter handle @sahabogotel on Sunday.

Writing about the uncommon gesture, Mr. Usman tweeted:

“This Happened in Kano…

“This shop with no. 129 is located at Sabon Gari in Kano, it is owned by an Igbo man, he is the one sitting on a chair inside the shop.

“He gathered 30 children (Almajiris) and called a tailor to measure their sizes and take their names, tell them to come.”

See tweet below:

It is estimated that there are over two million Almajiris roaming across the nineteen states of northern Nigeria.
