I swear I’ll kill — Policeman threatens Kano protesters
A police operative in Kano State where the hunger protests turned chaotic, was captured on video openly threatening to kill peaceful protesters.
The unrest in the city saw hoodlums looting both government and private properties, leading to clashes with security forces.
The violence forced governor Abba Yusuf to impose a curfew.
Though, despite the curfew, some protesters defied the restrictions and continued to challenge security forces on the streets.
A video which has gone viral online depicts a policeman, speaking in Hausa, threatening protesters amidst the chaos.
The officer was heard saying, “Keep looting. Is it because I did not do what I had done to them? Those throwing stones should not stop. I swear to God, if police officers bleed, I will kill. I swear to God I will kill.”
