How I was burnt, electrocuted while vandalising transformer — Teenager narrates

A 17 year old boy identified as master Sunday Adegbulu, from Akure, Ondo State, has recounted his experience that resulted from his involvement in vandalizing an electricity transformer.

Adegbulu, who was paraded by Amotekun, a state security organization, revealed that he and two others intended to sell the stolen cable to a sponsor for N25,000.

While speaking with newsmen, Adegbulu admitted to his second operation, stating that they had previously stolen electrical installations from an uncompleted building.

Narrating the incident which led to his severe injuries, he said, “I never knew that there was going to be electricity supply. It’s the handiwork of the devil that pushed me to the crime. Half of my body was burnt when electricity was supplied to the transformer.”

The state commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, highlighted the arrest of 45 suspected criminals, including Adegbulu, who engaged in various criminal acts in the state.

He explained the huge efforts made by Amotekun to arrest the suspects, stressing the importance of their work in maintaining security across the state.

Mr Adeleye also disclosed that Adegbulu was nearly killed by his accomplices to prevent him from revealing their identities. However, Amotekun’s intervention saved his life, and he was able to provide information about nine other members of the gang, including their godfather who is currently on the run.

This incident serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the dangers and consequences of engaging in criminal activities.

Meanwhile, Adegbulu’s story underscores the importance of deterring such behavior and the need for increased vigilance to prevent similar incidents in the future.
