Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has called for the removal of the president of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump.

Pelosi made the call while speaking with reporters live at the Capitol following yesterday’s assault on American democracy.

The House Speaker called for Trump’s immediate removal through the 25th Amendment, failure of which the lawmakers will initiate impeachment procedure against him.

She recalled how just yesterday American democracy came under attack.

“But we refuse to be bullied into abandoning our duty to work for the people,” she stated.

Madam Speaker, who called on Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, said if this does not happen, the president should be impeached – for the second time – instead.

She said: “In calling for this seditious act, the president has committed an unspeakable assault on our nation and our people.”

She described Trump as “a very dangerous person who should not continue in office.”

Meanwhile, Pelosi is not alone in the call for Trump’s impeachment.

The Governor of Illinois, Jay Robert “J. B.” Pritzker, on Wednesday, called President Donald Trump’s efforts to ‘encourage a coup’ as representing ‘high treason’

Pritzker called for him to be removed from office.

Also, Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer, on Thursday called for the invocation of the 25th Amendment.

Schumer said that if they failed to act, Congress should reconvene and impeach the outgoing president.
