There is heavy security presence in some strategic areas in Kano city in preparation for the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state.

The president is expected to declare open the Nigeria Air Force Week holding in Kano.

At the time of filing this report, the road leading to the palace of the Emir of Kano has been condoned off with heavily armed security stationed on the road with their vehicles.

At the Emir’s palace, hundreds of heavily armed security including men of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, among others were stationed at the gate and around the palace with their vehicles, including EOD vehicles from the State House.

Journalists were also restricted from gaining entrance into the palace, where the president is expected to visit before heading to the venue of the Air Force week.

Kano has been in the eye of the storm after the terror attack last week that resulted to the death of ten civilians.

Though, the police and statement government had earlier denied that the explosion was unconnected to terrorism. But some eyewitnesses insisted that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.

Saturday, it was later confirmed that the attack was masterminded by Boko Haram terrorists after the police recovered a vehicle laden with EID, guns and other weapons.
