Group congratulates Governor Mbah on appeal court victory

The frontline sociopolitical pressure group and pro-democracy advocate in Enugu State, the Save Enugu Group (SEG), has congratulated Governor Peter Mbah on his victory at the Court of Appeal.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos had dismissed the appeal filed by the Labour Party governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, for lacking in merit and upholding the judgment of the Enugu Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which affirmed Mbah’s victory.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Pascal Okolo (JP), the Save“ Enugu Group said Mbah’s victory would add impetuous to the Tomorrow Is Now Agenda of the current administration in Enugu State.”

The group then reiterated its call on the opposition and the entire people of Enugu State to support the state government’s efforts to reshape the economy of the state.

“We call on the opposition political parties in our dear state to back Governor Peter Mbah administration’s attempt at recreating the economic and commercial environment of Enugu State for a private sector driven economy, a positive attempt at a shift from the traditional civil service status of our state.

“It’s time to unite and end the legal battle in the interest of peace, unity, and the anticipated development while we continue to pray for the administration not to derail from its current focus on people-oriented programs”, the SEG stated.
