FENRAD executive director, Nnanna Nwafor becomes UNGA social ambassador
The executive director of Foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy and Development (FENRAD), in Abia State, Comrade Nnanna Nwafor, has been recognized as a Social Ambassador by the United Nations General Assembly following his tremendous contribution to the actualization of the Global Goals.
The recognition was confirmed in a statement by UNGA team which was obtained by this medium.
UNGA in the statement noted that their mission is to recognize and reward leaders who are making significant contributions towards the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor has been engaged in community development, community social mobilization activities, policy analysis/advocacy and human rights work for more than twenty years, focusing on various aspects of community development, environmental protection, preservation, conflict resolution and meditation, Peace building, policy intervention, human rights and social justice.
He is a graduate of accountancy and has acquired various knowledge both locally and International on environmental justice, peace building and conflict resolution. He is an environmental and human rights advocate, conflict resolution expert and peace ambassador.
As champion of environmental justice, he has gained considerable experience in the design and implementation of pro-poor and environmental policies and peace building across Nigeria.
Most of his projects centers’ on environmental protection and preservation, conflict resolution and mitigation, policy monitoring and advocacy, environmental and health management, community development, gender, human rights and social justice.
