There are candidates, particularly one that should be peacefully enjoying the fruits of his youth in a quiet environment meant for old retirees, who committed several acts of perjury. From the same Google they consult, his claim of being 70 years of age has been fact-checked to uncover a clear case of perjury.

The old man’s claim of family background has followed same pattern. His certificates claims are under heavy scrutiny. These and more are multiple cases of perjury, yet no noise made about them.

But hey, HE Peter Obi was on Channels Television to answer some questions thrown to him and bang, Fact-checkers are swarming all over to check every dot and comma in a live interview.

Read them…

Peter Obi claimed he was the first person to come back from impeachment. However, records on Wikipedia, ICIR Nigeria, and Infomedia NG shows that on January 12, 2006, Rashidi Ladoja was impeached as the Governor of Oyo State by Oyo State House of Assembly. He challenged his impeachment, and on November 1, 2006, the Appeal Court in Ibadan reinstated him, declaring the process of his impeachment null and void. Ladoja officially resumed office on December 12, 2006.

Now, read the interview in question…

SEUN: Mr Peter Obi, In some of the things Atiku said about you; he also said it will take a miracle for you to win the election. What’s your take on that?

OBI: Well, Seun, miracles are at the root of our faith. What strengthens our faith is miracle.

Since I started my political journey, it has all been miraculous. I started my journey to be governor in a party that was less than one year old in 2003. People said it will take a miracle for me to win the election that year, but I won.

Six months later, I was impeached alongside Fayose and Dariye. I challenged the impeachment in court, people said it will be impossible for me to come back to office, that no governor has ever come back to office after impeachment; they said it will take a miracle for me to win the case in court, but I won.

So I was the first governor to come through the courts, the first to come back from impeachment.

And in 2007, after about one year in office, INEC conducted an election. Andy Uba was declared the winner and was sworn in as governor. I went to court again to seek for the interpretation of our Constitution, that my tenure was for four years. Everybody said it would never happen. Again the Supreme Court declared me the winner and I went back to office, which is why we have staggered elections in various states of Nigeria today. So, I became the first governor to seek tenure interpretation and got back to office.

In the history of Anambra State from the Jim Nwobodo era, I was the first governor to serve two terms. I can go on and on to tell you things that happened in my political life that one can say are miracles.

So, I am looking forward to the next miracle next year to complete the miraculous journey of my political life…

End of this section.

Check all Obi said in the above chapter of the interview and see how petty it has become to trace a very minor and or negligible slip and aspect of over eight claims and understand the stage we are headed. And understand how emphases are made on peripheries over cores.

Another one – at the very end made them go overdrive once more…

Seun urged him to close in just 20 seconds.

SEUN: We have to go but I must ask you this because it is so dear to me as well. It seems you are focusing on the youths. Is it deliberate? What are your plans for them? We just have 20 seconds to go.

OBI: (rushing it) Very deliberate because the youths are our greatest asset. This country has enormous energy and talent within the youths that we need to harness to turnaround this country. Look at what has just happened at the World Athletic Championship, where Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume have made the country proud while the world is celebrating their talents. If you go into American NBA, out of 150 players in the NBA, about 100 are Nigerians. Our youths are so talented that they are where you need to focus to unleash their talent and productive energy to turnaround the country. When I talk about production, the greatest asset for this production I’m preaching everyday are the youths and I want to invest in them. All they need is access to training, access to capital…and I know where to get these for them to turn them around…

SEUN: (cutting in) Mr Peter Obi we’re totally out of time…

Read the Fact-checkers …

Peter Obi also claimed that out of 150 players in the American NBA, almost 100 are Nigerians.
Records also show that the NBA has approximately 450 players and not 150 as claimed by Peter Obi and far less Nigerians than he claimed.

So the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party must now be as infallible as God, so that his tongue never slips, which he seldom does anyway, in a live interview, especially when he was under pressure to close an hour exercise in just 20 seconds.

Dear OBIdients, brace up. The gang up is real. Our choice candidate is the only one of the four major candidates being tracked for every air he breathes.

Meanwhile, some others go as far as impersonating bishops and pastors of a whole Christendom while no fact-checks were performed. The old order is desperate to holding us back.

But we must take back our country. We have seen Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed. We cannot make the mistake of letting this retrogressive old order continue in 2023.

Get your PVC; get ready to use it. It is a divine call.
