Enugu Speaker Swears-in Hon. Solomon Onah, name him Chairman House Committee on Trade and Investment

The Enugu State House of Assembly Speaker, RT Hon. Ugwu has sworn in Hon. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah as Honourable Member representing Udenu state constituency.

Recall that eleven days ago, Appeal court in Lagos had overturned the victory of Engr. Obinna Ijere of the Labour Party as the representative for Udenu Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly. The court cited Ijere’s ineligibility for failing to meet constitutional requirements as the basis for this decision

Hon. Onah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged victorious from the legal challenge.

He was sworn-in earlier today 06 December 2023, alongside Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze representing Ezeagu state Constituency who also won his case at the Appeal Court. Onah who was former Enugu state ALGON Chairman was named house chairman on Trade And Investment.

The event took place amidst great fanfare and show of support from his Constituents. The distinguished ceremony took place in the sacred chambers of the Enugu State House of Assembly.

As the clock struck the appointed hour — 10:13 AM local time, the hallowed halls of the Assembly were teeming with hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, party loyalists, women’s groups, and youth organizations who had accompanied their newly elected representative to witness this historic occasion.
