All well-meaning and progressive Nigerians have for a long time, desired a transformative leadership; a leadership whose ideology, policies and programmed can salvage the living conditions of every Nigerian. Yet, among all the 18 presidential candidates for February 25th election, only the Obi-Datti candidacy ticks all the box of competence, capacity, capability and credibility to deliver.
Yet again, of all the major contenders to succeed President Buhari, the Labour Party, LP candidate, HE Mr. Peter Obi and his vice, Sen Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed are the only ones concerned about sensitizing and encouraging Nigerians to collect their PVCs and participate in the voting exercise. In other words, they are the only major candidates that believe in a free-and-fair contest – they trust the electoral process of a credible election and are confident that they will win.
Their major opponents especially of the All-Progressives Congress, APC and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are mainly concerned with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN monetary policy on naira redesign, calling for the extension of the deadline for the issuance of new naira notes. They pretend altogether to care for Nigerians. But why won’t they? Of course, being the old order, they are still banking on their old ways of winning elections – vote buying and vote suppression!
The old order is yet to realize that a new order is coming through a new ballot revolution — that all progressive Nigerians will resist their archaic tactics this time around and enthrone a new leadership through the BVAS with PVCs.
But any citizen desirous of a new Nigeria must heed the call by the former governor of Anambra State to go and pick up their PVC. A new Nigeria can only be achieved through the ballot revolution, and the PVC is the master key to unlock the door for the new people-oriented leadership; that is, Obi-Datti to enter Aso Rock Presidential Villa as our next president and vice-president.
