Friends of Dr. Emeka Offor, Anambra businessman mogul over the weekend hosted a post-convocation dinner and reception in Abuja to honour him and his wife, Dr. Adaora Offor who were both recently awarded honorary doctorate degrees.

Sir Dr Emeka Offor was awarded an honorary doctorate degree of Business Administration (Honoris Causa) by the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, while Dr. Mrs Adaora Offor Esq. was honored with a Doctorate Degree in Social Advocacy by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka.

During the convocation ceremonies, the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation had pledged endowments of 100 million naira to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and 50 million naira to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

These pledges were redeemed at the post-convocation dinner in Abuja.

The event was attended by dignitaries, academics, and friends, who gathered to celebrate the achievements of Sir Dr. Emeka Offor and Dr. Mrs Adaora Offor Esq.

The dinner served as a platform to acknowledge their contributions and the Offor Foundation’s commitment to supporting research and education in Nigeria.

Sir Dr. Emeka Offor who spoke at the Event called on the institutions to ensure the proper utilization of the funds in accordance with the endowment modalities while also calling on privileged members of the society to invest in education as a way of grooming better future leaders.

Highlights of the event was the official dressing up of Sir Dr. Offor in his Convocation gown as well as the presentation of the cheques to the University authorities.

Present at the grand Dinner was the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, the Minister of State for Education, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the Federation, Sen Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, the Chief of Staff to the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Sylvester Okonkwo, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe GCON, former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Prof. Charles Igwe, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka Prof Romanus Ezeokonkwo, the former Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Charles Esimone, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye, Senator Dr Andy Ubah and a host of other important dignitaries.
