Edo poll: Apapa faction submits Asemota name as guber candidate

Trouble could be knocking on the door of Labour Party in Edo State as Alhaji Apapa led faction of the party, has submitted the name of Barrister Anderson Uwadiae Asemota as its gubernatorial candidate in the State ahead of the September poll.

The rogue faction reportedly produced Anderson Asemota as the party governorship candidate after Olumide Akpata emerged as party’s governorship candidate which was conducted last week Friday by the authentic national chairman of LP, Barrister Julius Abure.

In a letter addressed to the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Alhaji Apapa led faction confirmed their candidates for the gubernatorial election.

“We write to submit the names of our candidates that emerges from our Governorship primary election conducted today in Benin Edo State

“Governorship Candidate Barr Anderson Uwadiae Asemota. Deputy Governorship Candidate, Barr. Monday Ojore Mawah,” the letter stated.
