Edison Ehie, removed as Rivers Assembly majority leader

The political face-off in Rivers State has taken a disturbing dimension as the State House of Assembly has removed Edison Ehie as the majority leader.

This medium gathered that Ehie who a strong ally of governor Similanayi Fubara was booted out of his position after he reportedly frustrated the initial attempt to initiate impeachment proceedings against the governor.

While announcing the removal of Ehie as the majority leader, the Assembly Speaker, Martins Amaehwule, said he was removed for not attending the assembly sitting.

Amaehwule said about 17 members of the House supported the removal of the house.

At the time of filing this report, security operatives have taken over the entire complex of the Assembly which was bombed on Sunday night by some yet to be identified hoodlums.
