Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have allegedly harassed the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State, Dr Nwachukwu Orji, ahead of the state governorship election on November 6.

It was learnt that the DSS operatives also picked up the INEC data entry workers over what they called a petition against the commission.

It was gathered that the petition followed the refusal of the INEC REC to recruit all the Supervisory Polling Officers for the elections from Imo and Ebonyi states.

INEC, it was further learnt, rejected all 72 Supervisory Polling Officers because it had not used its staff members for such roles since 2010.

SaharaReporters reports that the governor of Imo, Hope Uzodinma, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi, mobilised the officers to take up the roles.
