News Band is in possession of documents that indicates that like President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu could not provide certificates to substantiate his academic qualifications.

According to the documents, Tinubu only submitted court affidavit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) claiming that he went on self-exile on October 1994.

He swore that by the time he returned to Nigeria in October 1998, he discovered that all his properties, including all his academic certificates, were looted by unknown soldiers.

Find attached below the said documents presented by Tinubu to INEC:

In another noteworthy development, the Consulate General of the United States in Nigeria has denied Tinubu’s claims that he graduated from Chicago State University.

This was contained in a letter from the United States Department of Justice forwarded to the then EFFC Chairman, Farida Waziri, in 2011 by the US Consulate General.

It states clearly that Tinubu did not graduate from Chicago State University after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted an investigation into the claim.

According to sources within the Nigerian anti-graft agency, however, nothing came out of the disclaimer because by 2011 Tinubu was already out of office and was not contesting any election.

Reacting to the development, a popular scholar from the South West, the same region as Tinubu, Mr. Femi Aribisala said:

“Bola Tinubu said he attended St. Paul’s School, Aroloya, Lagos; but the school never existed. He said he attended Government College Ibadan (GCI) from 1965 to 1968. I was in GCI from 1962 to 1968, and Tinubu was not there.”

“The Old Boys Association of GCI also debunked Tinubu’s claims.

“He also claimed in his 1999 INEC form that he attended Richard Daley College, Chicago from 1969 to 1971, but there is no evidence of this. He also did not attend the University of Chicago between 1972 and 1976.”

“The case filed in court by Dominic Adegbola against Tinubu for perjury on these counts was only struck out because the judge ruled that the mandatory requirement of the law is that such an application must be filed within three months when the alleged fraudulent act was detected.”

“Tinubu’s lawyer who defended him on the basis of this technicality was none other than Yemi Osinbajo. He was rewarded with the Vice Presidency of Nigeria.”

He concluded by saying: “APC: party of certificate forgers!”

It could be recalled that in 2014, then General Muhammadu Buhari said his academic certificates were with the military board which was denied by the military.

Later, in 2021, Tinubu said his academic certificates were stolen by unknown soldiers; a claim largely unsubstantiated.

According to another source, Tinubu is hiding the truth of his academic background as it will expose his real identity.

According to the source, “Bola Tinubu’s real name is Yekini Amoda Ogunlere from Iragbiji Osun state.

“That is what is contained in his Primary and Secondary school certificates and that’s why he has refused to tender them before INEC,” the source claimed.

News Band cannot independently verify that claim.

In a related development, a photo of Tinubu with the late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola and late former Head of State, General Sani Abacha has emerged.

According to the photo, Tinubu was 55 years of age in 1993.

However, almost 30 years later, Tinubu is still claiming that he is only 69 years, a claim many find unsettling as his daughter is reportedly 61 years currently.
