The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike has named the wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari and former First Lady, Aisha Buhari and three of her children among Nigerians owing the Federal Capital Territory Administration over N30 billion in ground rent.

This was contained in a document recently released by Mr. Wike which indicated a list of defaulters that have not paid ground rents for all the properties they own in Abuja.

The released list, which did not indicate how many properties owned by these individuals, shows that some forty Nigerians, including Aisha Buhari and her children, owe the FCT Administration over N40 billion in ground rent.

In the list, Buhari’s daughter, “Halima-Sheriff Muhammadu Buhari”, could be seen occupying number 12668, while “Zahra Muhammadu Buhari” was seen on number 12676.

His son, “Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari”, occupied number 12677, while “Aisha Muhammadu Buhari”, was seen occupying number 12678.

See the list below:

In the meantime, the FCT Minister, Wike, has threatened to revoke their lands and properties if those indicted fail to pay their debts.

Reacting to the document, a source lamented that “the former First Lady and her children are major beneficiaries of properties seized by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

“They got most for free!” the source added.

Another source cried: “Where did Buhari’s children see money to buy land in Abuja? The lady time I checked, Yusuf Buhari is jobless and the sister just finished from school.

“What job is Aisha Buhari engaged in apart from being Buhari’s wife? Where did she get money to buy land?”

Another concerned Nigerian added: “So despite all they may have allegedly acquired as seen in the media space over the 8 years, they still owe? That is witchcraft!”

Meanwhile, another observed: “I have checked this list and there’s only one Igbo name on it. This clearly means that Igbos are the real builders of Nigeria and no defaulters.” Read more.
