DOCUMENT: Buhari’s nephew—Hon. Fatuhu Muhammed dumps APC for PDP
Honourable Fatuhu Muhammed, a nephew to President Muhammadu Buhari, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Honourable Muhammed announced his defection in a letter addressed to the Ward Chairman, Sarkin Yara A Ward, Daura, the hometown of President Buhari in Katsina State.
In the letter dated July 13 which personally signed, Muhammed did not give reason for his defection but merely tendered his resignation.
See the letter attached below:
For the records, Fatuhu Muhammed is the son of the older brother of President Buhari, the same father and mother.
He represents Daura, Sandamu & Mai’adua Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
When Fatuhu’s father, Muhammad “Mamman” Danbafale, died in a car crash, Buhari became his foster father.
At the twilight of the Buhari’s administration, he has left the ruling party for the opposition party.
In the meantime, when contacted, a source close to the lawmaker disclosed to News Band that he may have left after failing to secure his reelection bid.
In the primary election, he reportedly got only 30 votes while his rival, Aminu Jamo, polled 117 votes.
Another source said he may have left following the surging insecurity engulfing the state in particular, and the northern region in general.
