Delta Massacre: Wanted monarch surrenders to police
The paramount ruler of Ewu Kingdom in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State, Chief Clement Ikolo, who is among the 8 individuals declared wanted by the military authorities in connection with the killing of 17 military officers in Okuama community, has surrendered himself to the Delta State Police Command.
Chief Clement reportedly arrived the state police headquarters at exactly 6:41pm on Thursday to surrender himself to Police Commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda.
The monarch before turning himself in to the police, addressed newsmen where he insisted on his innocence in the gruesome massacre.
The police image maker in Delta State, Bright Edafe who confirmed the development said they have Chief Clement in their custody.
NewsBand reported on Thursday, that the Defence Headquarters declared eight persons, including Ikolo wanted over their roles in the recent killing of 17 military personnel.
Those declared wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (Aka Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki; a traditional ruler, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukeywe; Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.
