The former Governor of Kano State and senator representing Kano Central Senatorial zone, Ibrahim Shekarau, has vowed to remain in the All Progressives Congress and support the newly-elected factional leaders of the party under Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Danzago.

Shekarau made the remark in Hausa on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.

“I want to use this opportunity to inform our friends and associates on the State of our party APC in Kano State.

“I, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, led some of elected National Assembly members and forwarded a complaint to the National Headquarters of APC on how the party is being ran without involving us in the State.

“We are elected and our people have the right to know what is going on in the running of the party. We have already forwarded our complaint and was accepted. We hope the issue will be resolved.

“I wish to inform our people that we will remain in APC forever. We have been patient but we will need not allowed ourselves to be fooled as we will not listen to anyone except People at the national headquarters where we forwarded our complaint.

“I want to make it categorically clear that in Kano State we recognised only Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago as the elected APC chairman.

“We pray to God to give him the strength and wisdom to steer the leadership of the party. We also pray to God to guide all the other 35 elected officials of the party.”
