Crisis: Buhari in secret meeting with APC Governors

President Muhammadu Buhari held a closed-door meeting with Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State House, Abuja, on Monday over the lingering crisis bedeviling the party.

President Buhari met with chairman, APC Governors’ Forum, who also doubles as the Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu.

Buhari was accompanied by the Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Plateau State Governor, who is also the chairman of Northern Governors Forum, Simon Lalong, over the party Crisis.

The meeting followed Sunday evening’s meeting between the president and the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan.

Senator Lawan had hinted that the president would lead a push for settlement of the crisis within the next few days.

An earlier report by ElombahNews on June 21 shows that the APC NEC Integrity Group have set in motion an agenda.

The agenda will look critically in accordance with the Constitution of Nigeria and that of the APC on best way to resolve the current crisis.

On June 20, the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) Integrity Group Members met and elected their National Executive Members.

This was part of a text of the press briefing signed by Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Sa’ad Fakai, APC National Youth Leader North West (APC NEC MEMBER), and copied to President Buhari.

It was also copied to Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), all APC Stakeholders, all Security Agencies and also circulated to journalists.

The purpose of constituting the group, it says, is to critically look at the current happenings in the party.
