Today, I was at the Federal High Court in Lagos presided over Justice A. O. Faji in Suit No: FHC/L/CS/763/2019 between Inibehe Effiong versus the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria & the AGF, Abubakar Malami SAN.

I am praying the Federal High Court to declare that President Buhari violated his oath of office and breached Section 141 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) during his controversial April private visit to London.

Recall that I sued Mr Buhari when he proceeded on vacation which he called a “private visit” from the 25th April to the 5th May, 2019 without transmitting a written declaration to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to enable the vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, perform the functions of the office of President in an acting capacity.

Hearing in the case took place today as the court listened to arguments by the parties.

Judgment in the case has been reserved for the 31st day of January, 2020.
