Cloudy weather, thunderstorms, rains expected on Friday – NiMet

There will be cloudy weather over the Central States on Friday morning according to the weather forecast by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Thursday in Abuja.

The Weather Outlook by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office also predicted isolated thunderstorms over Yola, Bauchi, Southern Jos, Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Ibi, Jalingo and Mambilla plateau.

Thursday’s prediction indicated isolated thunderstorms over most parts of the region during the afternoon and evening hours.

It also stated that the region would have day and night temperatures in the range of 24 to 31 and 17 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudiness with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Akure and Enugu.

It stated that there would be rains over Warri, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Eket and Calabar axis during the morning hours.

NiMet also predicted prospects of isolated thunderstorms over inland cities with chances of rains over the coastal cities during afternoon and evening hours.

It added that the Southern region would experience day and night temperatures of 28 to 31 and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively on Friday.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over the northwest.

It stated that there would be chances of isolated thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Nguru, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna and its environ during the morning hours.

“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are likely over most cities with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 32 and 21 to 24 degrees celsius respectively.

“Due to high level of moisture influx; as well as clouds build up from today into tomorrow, is expected to increase chances of weather activities over most parts of the country,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
