The Nigeria security and civil Defense corps (NSCDC) through its public relation officer, Abdullahi Mairali disclosed that the corps lost two personnel to Boko Haram insurgency in the state, attributing the low casualty to God’s protection, highly trained personnel and discipline.

The effects resulted for United Nations affiliate organisation, COCHA, to train officers of NSCDC in Adamawa State on effective management of internally displaced persons.

Speaking in an interview with Journalist on Tuesday, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in the state, Abdullahi Mairali said 30 officers have benefited from the training.

Mairali said the training workshop would enhance the capacity of the officers and inspire quality service delivery in managing displaced persons.

“I am a participant, I learnt a lot. The resource person is from Armenia but he knows much about disaster and humanitarian situation in Nigeria and Africa”, he stated.

He noted that NSCDC have a mandate to carry out dual role of providing security as well as humanitarian services at the IDPs camps.

He appreciated the synergy among the officers and their counterparts from the military, police and other security agencies in the fight against insurgency.

“Civil Defence is the custodians of the IDPs. We work in synergy with other security agencies and humanitarian groups like the Red Cross, NEMA and SEMA‎, he said.
