A party manifesto is the political party’s mission statement and vision. Manifesto is a master plan and a road map for any political party. In fact, party manifesto is an economic and political compendium of what the party seeking electorates’ endorsement would want to achieve if given the mandate to lead.

And so, any political aspirant under any party has no independent manifesto other than that of the party as documented instrument of instruction which he or she adopts leading to the election.

The party manifesto as a policy document may be adapted and indiginised by the political aspirant to his/her constituency peculiarity but must not significantly and materially abstract from the manifesto

To these great extents, political manifesto transcends a promise but akin to unitary agreement because the electorates were not part of the drafting of the clauses or terms.

To this end, electoral promises and manifesto in strict sense have no binding effect on any of the political parties/aspirants and as such, not actionable in the court of law.

Be that as it may, no political party can bring about restructuring nay devolution in Nigeria because it is a metaphysical impossibility as a result of the ontological defect in the structuring of the Constitution by the drafters and in the dysfunctional creation of the states, local governments and political wards in Nigeria.

The system is skewed and in favour of the North. Nigeria is their hegemony. No person can negotiate that away from them via any democratic means; the North has the veto powers by virtue of their number, greater states, greater local governments, greater political wards, and representatives at the National Assemblies.

What is the solution? The way out is an affirmative revolution. Time will tell whether this Obi-dient group can change the Nigerian disequilibrium.
