More Nigerians could be heading to the United Kingdom as the British government has announced more measures to increase the number of organisations licensed to sponsor workers on the worker and temporary worker immigration routes to the country.
Checks on the list which was updated on Friday, August 23, shows that it now has 119,195 approved companies.
A breakdown shows that the approved companies are in technology, commerce, education, media and advertisement, and engineering sectors, among others.
According to the UK government, a Skilled Worker visa allows you to come to or stay in the UK for an eligible job with an approved employer.
Nigerians and other interested applicants have been encouraged to visit the websites of these approved companies to search for available vacancies that match their qualifications and skills.
Moreover, to qualify for a Skilled Worker visa, applicants must have a job offer from an approved UK employer.
These approved employers are referred to as sponsors, as they facilitate the process for applicants to come to or stay in the UK.
Also, for those considering applying, it’s essential to first secure a job offer from one of these licensed sponsors, which can be found on the approved companies’ list, available through the UK government’s official channels.
