*five new National Commissioners appointed*
The Council Of State has Confirmed Mahmud Yakubu as the substantive Independent National Electoral COmmission [INEC] Chairman and appointed five new National Commissioners.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had appointed Mrs Amina Bala Zakari as the Acting Chairman of INEC following the end the former chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega’s term of Office.
PROFILE:
Until his appointment as INEC head, Mahmood Yakubu was the Assistant Secretary, Finance and Administration if the electoral body.
According to Premium Times, Mr. Yakubu was a professor of political history and international studies.
