Breaking: Lebanese behind traffick/sale of Nigerian girl arrested

The Lebanese Govt just announced the arrest of Mr. Wael Jerro for onward prosecution against criminal sales of a human, a young Nigerian girl.

Lebanon’s General Security arrested the man for posting an advert for a Nigerian domestic worker “for sale” on Facebook

Mr. Jerro had put up the Nigerian girl, whom he trafficked from Nigeria, on Facebook for sale.

Jerro, who resides in Beirut Lebanon, sent in an image alongside the data page of the 30-year-old Nigerian, Peace Busari Ufuoma on a Facebook group called ‘Buy and Sell Lebanon.’

The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa the Nigerian mission in Lebanon thanked the Lebanese government for swinging into immediate action.

In another development, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has secured the release of Nigerian prisoners in Tanzania.

The Nigerian Mission worked on repatriation of the Tanzanian prisoners.

The Ambassador, Dr Sahobi Isa Gada was in Nigeria specifically for this purpose after having successfully secured a release of 60, out of 73 Nigerians, in various prisons in Tanzania.

Arrangements were then made by the Ambassador for their repatriation.

Before their release, the Commission said it had made regular visitation to the prisons.
