Solomon Izuchukwu Onah has been issued certificate of return as Member-Elect of the Enugu State House of Assembly by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC). This comes earlier today at the Enugu State office of the Commission, in compliance with the recent ruling of the Appeal Court judgment in Lagos on November 24, 2023.
The ruling upheld the decision of the election petition tribunal, which nullified the election of Obinna Ijere on the grounds of ineligibility. Instead, the court held that Hon. Onah, should be returned elected as the rightful member representing Udenu Constituency at the State House of Assembly.
Amidst great anticipation and enthusiasm, supporters of Hon. Onah gathered at the gate of the Commission, patiently waiting for the arrival of their newly elected representative. As the certificate of return was presented to Hon. Onah at approximately 11:30am Local time, this morning, supporters erupted in joyous celebration.
