Blasphemy: Peter Obi condemns killing of Deborah Samuel

Frontline presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi has condemned the killing of Deborah Samuel by religious extremists.

Deborah Samuel who was a student of Shehu Shagari college of education, last week was brutally murdered after she was accused of making derogatory remarks against prophet Muhammad in a WhatsApp forum.

Condemnations have continued to trail her unfortunate death.

However, Peter Obi while speaking during Arise TV morning show, condemned her death. He said, what happened to Deborah shouldn’t have occurred because the constitution of Nigeria guarantees the fundamental human rights of the citizens.

Obi said, “What happened to Deborah shouldn’t have occurred. Nigerian constitution guarantees the fundamental human rights of the citizens and there are ways of addressing such issues than people taking laws into their own hands.
