Bank staff commits suicide in Lagos over hardship
A staff of the Ikorodu, Lagos branch of Globus Bank identified as Amarachi Ugochukwu, has committed suicide by drinking sniper owing to the worsening economy amongst other factors.
According to the late banker, she felt nothing was working in her life and her future looked bleak alongside extreme hardship and a depleting economy.
Rather than continue to struggle, she chose to end things while apologizing to her family and friends for her decision.
In a handwritten note reportedly written by the deceased, she explained that her decision was because of the hardship she faced in life.
The note reads, “NOTING IS WORKING IN MY LIFE. MY FIGURES ARE COLD. MY BRAIN IS CLOGGED UP. THE ECONOMY IS GETTING HARDER. MY DECISIONS ARE WRONG. MY DECISIONS ARE WRONG. MY MIND IS MESSED UP.
“THE FUTURE DOESN’T SEEM BRIGHT AT ALL, I SEE EXTREME HARDSHIP. I CAN’T BEAR THE PAIN ANYMORE.
“I’M SORRY MUM, I’M SORRY DAD, I’M SORRY MEME, OKWE, NAZOR, CHUCHU, IFUNANYA.”
