Armed bandits suspected to be armed robbers numbering about twelve attacked some motorists travelling along Lokoja-Abuja Federal Highway Sunday evening killing several.
The incident took place near Gadder beau, before Kweita, a community along Lokoja-Abuja Federal Highway in Kogi State
According to an eyewitness, the armed robbers blocked the highway with stones and other dangerous objects to prevent the motorists from making u-turn.
When some motorists got to the scene, the bandits reportedly opened fire on the passengers.
Some of them died and others sustained different degrees of injuries.

The eyewitness report said a team of military men, however, ran into the accident and helped to convey the corpses to the hospital.
