Ward and Chapter Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have described as untrue, the purported expulsion of 2023 governorship aspirant, Senator Ita Enang, from the party.

Addressing newsmen in Uyo on Wednesday, Mr Umoh Ekop, the Ibiono Ibom Chapter Chairman, and Mr Aniekan Ekerette, Chapter Secretary, assisted by other executive members and ward chairmen in Ibiono Ibom, frowned at the expulsion letter issued by the factional state chairman of the party, Mr Stephen Ntukekpo.

The statement clarified that Enang’s home ward of Eastern Ibiono Ibom Ward II has received any information or petition that could have warranted his expulsion from the party.

Labeling the alleged expulsion as “an insult on Ibiono Ibom APC family and to the entire local government area”, they party demanded for an immediate retraction of same.

“The party at the ward and the chapter level want to expressly exonerate herself from the ratified decision of the factional State Working Committee (SWC) on their decision to expel Senator Ita Solomon Enang from the party on reasons that I see as being biased and unsubstantial,” they insisted.

The further stated that “the decision to seek redress and justice in the court of law (as done by Senator Ita Enang) cannot be termed or seen as an anti-party activity and disobedience to the lawful directives of the party.
