The Senator Andy Uba Governorship Campaign Organisation (SAUGCO) has lambasted Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Anambra 2021 governorship election, over claims that a coalition of 50 political parties in Anambra endorsed him.

In a state titled “RE: Coalition of 50 Political Parties in Anambra State Endorses Soludo“, signed by the Deputy Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia, SAUGCO stated:

“Our attention has been drawn to a publication floating on social media and signed by APGA Media Team 2021 with the above caption.

Ordinarily, we would not give attention to such an open lie from APGA in their effort to create a fake scenario that people are joining their party’s sink ship, whereas the truth is that many are leaving APGA in droves.

They claimed in their publication that 50 Political Parties in Anambra State endorsed Soludo.

It is on the record that the total number of political parties in Nigeria and participating in the Anambra governorship election is 18.

So where did APGA manufacture the 50 odd Political Parties which they claim endorsed Soludo?

Why would APGA not mention the names of these imaginary 50 political parties which so gleefully endorsed their candidate, yet only 18 political parties exist in Nigeria as registered by the INEC.

As we move into the last days of electioneering, We urge Ndi Anambra to be vigilant, as the APGA candidate and his team are beginning to show high levels of desperation to the point of cooking up non-existing data to deceive the general public away from their looming defeat.

We urge APGA and its campaign to stop overheating the polity with fake information at a time our dear state should be looking for a realistic approach towards confronting the growing challenges facing the state.

We wish to submit that the November 6, 2021 election will not be determined by APGA’s age-long propaganda against Andy Uba and APC, as the APC candidate is focused on winning the election and setting up a governance structure that will prove to Ndi Anambra that he means well for the state.

We are aware that the growing support to Senator Nnamdi Emmanuel Andy Uba’s candidacy and his party, APC for the November 6 gubernatorial election is unsettling the ruling party in the state, but we wish to assure them that the development interest of the state remains paramount, as Andy Uba is not keen on chasing individuals.”
