…as legal practitioner picks Green Party ticket, promises 3m jobs

The Mega Progressives People’s Party(MPPP) has elected Prince Chuma Ojukwu from Awka-etiti, Idemili South Council of Anambra state as its flagbearer for the coming November 18,2017 governorship election in Anambra state.

This was coming on the heels of the choice of the Green Party of Nigeria(GPN) which picked a 38-year old, legal practitioner, Mr Basil Onyeachonam Onuorah, from Mmiata Anam in Anambra West council as its flagbearer for the forthcoming Nov 18 poll.

Prince Ojukwu in his post election acceptance speech acknowledged his zeal and commitment to unseat e incumbent Gov Willie Obiano, and to unleash abundant democracy dividend to the citizens of the state.

He said the electorates have for long yearned for a thoroughbred leader who lives with them and understands their needs and challenges, not a foreign based imposed candidate who was detached from the reality on ground.

He defeated Mr Ekweozor who alleged to have been disqualified for non-payment of the required stipulated fees.

Onuorah, a former governorship candidate and an industrialist in his acceptance speech promised about three million(3m) jobs within the first four years when elected.

According to him, “…only the Green Party is well equipped to revive the nation’s economy through agriculture.

“I have age on my side, I want to fight crime with jobs, hence want to carry along two million unemployed youth and one million unemployed job seeking graduates..”

He promised to lead Anambra state out of what he saw as “this lethargic governance”, and urged all citizens to join him as the task ahead is bigger than one person.

He polled 100 votes out of the 105 accredited delegates, three “No” votes, with two invalid votes at the primary presided over the National Chairman of GPN, Chief Sam Ekeh at the Nobles Hotels in Awka.
