As the November 6 governorship election in Ananbra State draws nearer, the candidate of Action Alliance, Mr. Ben Etiaba has expressed optimism that he will trounce the candidates of others parties such as Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Senator Andy Uba of All Progressive Congress (APC) and Val Ozigbo of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) among others at the polls to emerge the winner of the election.

Speaking to Journalists on his chances in the November poll on the day of tribute for late Real Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu in Enugu, Etiaba said that he is in the race to entrench democracy with desired good governance and his banking on the grassroots base of his party, his competence and his well-articulated manifesto to win the election.

He noted that the Anambra electorates are tired of those political parties and politicians that have consistently failed to render good governance in the State.

He said: “I am here to pay tribute to late Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, a chieftain of the defunct National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) and one the founding fathers of democracy we have in Nigeria today.

“I am in the governorship race to consolidate democracy brought by Kanu and others because their legacy is worth consolidating.

“I am in the race to win and not to lose. I know that power belongs to God and God gives power and I am very spiritual about power.

“I will win the election if it is the will of God, so I am praying that my campaign and everything that I am doing with my party and my supporters and what I have planned to do if elected are inline with the will of God over the election.

“If what am doing and what I will do if elected falls inline with the will of God, I am definitely going to come out as the eventual winner of the election”

The Nnewi-born politician went further to assure that he will do things differently and better in the areas of security and infrastructural development if elected.

He added that he will give priority attention to the issue of security with job creation for the youth and updating the security agencies with necessary tools, improve on the road network, the quality of education and health care services among other things that are inline with the yearning of the good people of the State.

Stressing on why he should be elected, he concluded:  “I must not be elected but I want to be elected.

“I am competent enough and I am prepared to provide the desired good governance which the people are looking for.

“Like I said earlier, I will do things differently and better because I have the experience in leadership and exposed enough to lead Anambra State.”
