In the aftermath of the attack on the “peace loving community of Agwa”, a young man was reportedly seen with severe multiple matchet cut on his head.

The eyewitness continued:

“It was a day of indecisive movement within the peaceful Agwa community and its environs as everyone is seen now scampering for safety.

“The peace existing in the serene Agwa hamlet has been brought to halt by this Fulani herdsmen attack which claim the life of a young man.”

Later, Hon. Frank Ugboma, who represented the constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, visited the scene immediately the news got to him.

Hon. Ugboma tried to calm frayed nerves and assured them that justice must be served on the perpetrators of such dastardly act.

He said that the perpetrators must not escape but will be made to bear the full weight of the law.

He reassured them of his commitment to secure the lives and property of all Oguta residents.

Ugboma called on the state government under the leadership of Senator Hope Uzodimma to attend to the situation before it grows out of proportion.

He said that if left unchecked, such action and counter-reaction will snowball and jeopardise the peace of the Community.

The lawmaker, who couldn’t hold back his tears, consoled the family of the deceased and reassured them of government’s intervention in the nearest future.
