Adamawa stands still as Atiku gives out 3 daughters in marriage

Yola and Jimeta, the traditional and Administrative headquarter of Adamawa state respectively, since yesterday, began to wear a new look because of the wedding Fatiha of the three daughters of the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

Beehive of activities has been taking place along the major roads of Jimeta and Yola.

The weddings have, for the past two weeks, been a topic of discussion because of the high profile personalities that are said to grace the occasion.

A delegation from the presidency hoped to be led by the speaker of the House of Assembly, Dogara  Yakubu, Secretary of the Federal Government, B D Lawal , SGF, the wife of the president Hajiya Aisha Buhari and other international dignitaries are expected.

In line with the Friday high profile wedding, the Government of Adamawa state has since issued a press release signed by the commissioner of information, comrade Ahmad Sajoh telling the general public that as from Thursday, 12th November, 2015, to Saturday, 14th November, in the evening there could be traffic hold-ups, diversions and delays.

In the letter, Comrade Sajoh is calling on all security Agencies to ensure safety of both the VIPs and general public during the public gathering of this nature.

The letter stressed that there is going to be diversion, restrictions in parkings, and delays in the movements, especially along Airport Road, Capital School, Bank Road, High Court Road, Dougeri, Yola Road, AUN Road and Lamido’s palace area.

He reminded the public to be vigilant and security conscious throughout the period and that government deeply regrets any inconvenience these measures may entail.
