Gunmen have abducted a popular Archbishop in Anambra State, Uka Uka Osim of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.

NewsBand gathered that the prophet was kidnapped alongside his wife, Anne Osim, and son, Roland Uka Osim, as well as three other clergymen from the ministry.

Azuka Ochu, Moses Okafor, and Anderson Akwazie are the other three priests abducted.

They were all kidnapped on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, while travelling to Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

They were reportedly travelling to Awka on evangelical duties when the criminal elements accosted them.

Their abduction was confirmed by the administrator of the spiritual organisation in Abia State, BCS, Bishop Denis Onuoha.

He said four days later, the abductors had not reached out to anybody.

“We are very worried but we are assured that the Almighty Father who they worship and work for with total devotion will help them out”.

Police Speaks On The Abduction

Meanwhile, the Abia State Police Command on Sunday clarified that the abduction of Archbishop of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Bishop Uka Uka Osim, occurred in Anambra State, not Abia as earlier reported by some section of the media.

The spokesman of the command, ASP Maureen Chinaka who spoke in reaction to the incident, revealed that one of Aba’s Bishops confirmed the abduction.

However, the precise location or area in Anambra where the priests were kidnapped was not revealed.

She said, “Based on our findings, the alleged kidnap of the Archbishop of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star occurred in Anambra State.

“This was confirmed by one of the Bishops of the church in Aba.”
