The National Headquarters of the National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has queried its Yola Command over an illegal operation carried out by six of its staff against a patent medicine store located at No 10 Ibadan Street behind Jimeta Shopping Complex in Yola, the Adamawa State Capital.

The query followed a letter of petition received by the National Headquarters from the victim of the said illegal operation, one Obadiah Ezekiel Dogo of Damilu Ward Complaining of Stealing, human rights violations, assault on his person and burglary.

The officers were reported to have invaded the patent store twice and carted away with drugs, personal effects and cash worth over N3million of their victim after breaking into the medicine store at about 5:00pm during his absence without recourse to official procedures.

During the second invasion of the medicine store, the officers were said to have arrested their victim in an Armed Robbery fashion and gave him a beating of his life leading to his eventual hospitalization at the peace Hospital located in the state Capital. The victim ended up settling the medical therapy out of his personal pocket against all decency.

The medicine vendor was said to be demanding the immediate payment of the confiscated Drugs and valuables worth over N3million and N10million compensation or face the wrath of the Law owing to the illegal operation carried out under the leadership and watchful eyes of one Umar Jada of the state command.

At the time of writing this report, the Adamawa State Commandant of the command was not available for comments but insiders who confirmed the incident said that the state command was doing something about the matter.

Sources within the police circle indicated that the Police command had earlier ordered for a full blown investigation but had to suspend action on discovery that the matter was still before a Federal high court for determination, a case that was perceived to be moving at a snail speed.

Mr. Obadiah Ezekiel Dogo who spoke to this Reporter said that  he will stop at nothing to secure justice from the Law Courts if the Command fails to meet up with his demands.
