30-yr-old apprentice commits suicide after his boss refuses to settle him
A 30-year-old man simply identified as Mr Ani Chisom, has committed suicide and left a damning note behind.
Chisom was bitter that he served his master for seven years and was not given his reward for service, called ‘settlement’.
The sad incident was shared in a post on X by a social media user.
Chisom heaped the blame for his action on his employer, Ulasi of Otolo Cars in Lagos.
In his note, he begged for forgiveness from his mother and expressed his undying love for his siblings and his love, whom he credited with doing all she could to make him feel comfortable.
He wrote, “I have tried my best to be somebody in life, but life has not been fair to me. I served with hard labour, yet nothing came of it because my master refused to settle me. It has been emotionally exhausting.”
“I have tried to bear the pain, but it has become too much for me. I have to end it all because I am very tired, and my spirit is already broken.”
To his mother, he wrote, “I know this will hurt her deeply because I am her favourite, and she has cared for me so much. I’m so sorry, Mom, that I couldn’t make it. Life hasn’t worked out for me.”
While addressing his boss, Ulasi, he stated, “We will meet again soon, but before that, you will hear from me. You made me endure so much after seven years of hard work with you. I should be a businessman now, not frustrated by your actions.”
He also expressed love for his siblings, saying, “Chioma, Ruth, Ekene, Uche, I love you so much. I promise to pave the way for you all in whatever I can do. Goodbye until we meet again.”
Finally, he acknowledged the woman he was leaving behind, saying, “You are such a wonderful person, and may God bless you abundantly for all you have done.”
