In the race to be elected the 18th Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are over ten candidates across different political parties. But as we must always have it in every competition, there are about four top contenders in the race to take over from the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

Of the four contenders, the Labour Party, LP Presidential Candidate have been singled out as one that must be vehemently attacked, destructively criticized and abusively labelled. Since his emergence as the presidential candidate, the opposition parties have not ceased from spreading all sorts of propaganda against the former governor of Anambra State.

Yet, on many occasions, the former Vice Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum, HE Mr Peter Obi, has appealed for issue-based campaign. While delivering his speech at the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA Conference in Lagos on Monday 22nd August, 2022, he declared that Nigeria is presently in a mess and more disunited, and that the 2023 election would not be based on tribal or religious sentiments, but on character and competence.

Going further, he said that Nigeria needs urgent transition from a highly insecure country to one that is secure and free from corruption. He marshalled his points with brilliant solutions that could rescue dear country from its current mess if implemented. Of course, the LP presidential candidate received a loud ovation with an award to match at the end of his inspiring speech.

Millions of Nigerians, including those in the opposition camp, have clearly seen that the former Honourary Special Adviser to the Nigerian President on Finance, and who is currently meeting Diaspora Nigerians in selected European and American countries to deliver more speeches, wears the crown as the most suitable candidate for the seat of the president ahead of the February 25th, 2023 elections.

For the fact that HE Peter Obi’s ambition is to see our nation work for the good of everyone most especially the creative and industrious youths, the opposition camps lampoon him on daily and hourly bases.

Because of his vision to urgently transition Nigeria from its highly insecure state to a secured one, they malign him. For the want of a country that we can all be proud of, a country were law and order is maintained, they throw tantrums at him.

Because he is the only candidate that recognized that Nigeria are among the top terrorized countries in the world, the top kidnapping countries in the world with banditry taking over part of the country and Nigerians are being killed in the process, they continued to act as clowns ridiculing him.

But believe me, the Obi-Datti candidacy only sees all these destructive criticisms as a stepping stone to climbing Aso Rock presidential villa where they will aggressively and passionately work toward eradicating the high rate of poverty, reducing the high rate of unemployment, lowering the high risk of insecurities and restoring the shameful lost glory of our dear country.

Yes, the man of enviable character and competence together with his admirable and highly intelligent vice president, Sen. Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, will turnaround our consumptive country to a productive nation through simultaneous implementation of workable policies that are derived from the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, across all sectors of our national life and economy. Believe!
