Unofficial source has just informed ElombahNews that the present Minister for Labour and Productivity, and former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige will contest the Anambra central senatorial seat in the 2019 general election.

He will contest under the auspices of the All Progressives Congress [APC] if and when he makes open his declaration.

According to permutations, if Dr. Chris Ngige clinches the seat, he will become the next senate president, coming from the South-East.

Presently, the district is being represented by Chief Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance [APGA] at the National Assembly.

Ngige was the Senator of the region but lost the seat to Iyom Uche Ekwunife who was later ousted by an Enugu-based High Court.

Meanwhile, the office of the Minister is yet to respond to an SMS sent to him seeking confirmation of same.
