2 students of Bida Polytechnic found dead in apartment

A male and female students of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, have been found dead in a room at the FMC Quarters in Bida town, within the Bida local government area of the state.

The male student, simply identified as Mr Bam and a female student, Aisha, were together in the apartment overnight and failed to come out in the morning, prompting neighbours to investigate their wellbeing.

According to Daily Trust, neighbours are suspecting that the duo ate poisonous food, which led to their death.

The spokesman of Niger State police command, SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident on Monday.

He said that upon receipt of the complaint, the DPO of B Division, Bida, led police operatives to the scene.

The door to the room was forcefully opened, and it was discovered that the bodies were lying on the floor in the sitting room.

“A leftover food and some tablets were discovered at the scene and were taken for medical analysis.

“There was no sign of struggle or any mark of violence observed on the bodies. The corpses were removed to the FMC Bida for autopsy. The incident is under investigation.”
