Dear Ijele,

I write to you on my own freewill. I was not sent, compelled or lobbied by anyone to write to you. I write in my capacity as an indigenous activist and investigative writer standing in a literary gap for the people of Biafra. I represent the interest of millions of Biafrans who genuinely desire Biafra. What I ask in this letter is what they need.

I want to firstly and officially bring to your notice that by virtue of fundamental right to expression, I proudly express my unalloyed support for Biafran National Guard through this letter.

My literary support for BNG stemmed from natural alignment of beliefs. I was not paid, asked or contacted to take this independent literary position. My reason for detailing my position is because I am addressing this letter to a man who knows A-Z about this struggle.

Between 2015 and 2017, Nnamdi Kanu had a field day in what could be best described as revenge. He massively attacked your personality for what you did to him when he was under you in MASSOB. His personal vendetta brought unhealthy competition into the struggle and many without fair hearing condemned you. Today; we have changed the narrative and unhealthy competition buried. We the people recognize your efforts and sacrifice and say thank you. It wasn’t easy to start Biafra agitation when no one could.

It would be sheer stupidity to start telling you about BNG or Innocent Orji. Of course, you vividly remember late senator Nwagbara’s encounter in Abia state. You vividly remember the day you were visiting late Ojukwu in Enugu when Nigerian forces blocked your convoy and you ordered the convoy to go back but one lanky soldier said over his dead body and in the end, you crossed the barrier and reached your destination. That is the man in question.

In a fortnight, the army of Biafra will have a maiden live broadcast. Nobody knows what will be said but of all Biafrans home and abroad, I believe only you can predict what is coming. I have been opportune to hear from Innocent Orji more about you. He speaks highly of you and has moved on from all squabbles.

‘One thing about Ralph, he is fearless even though he is a conservative ideologist. He stayed, he went into detention, came out and didn’t run away. He tried so much to be there when nobody wanted to be there. If you know the price of starting something, you would value Ralph and appreciate him irrespective of anything you have heard about him’ Orji would say each time I was opportune to speak with him. He would say same thing if I ask him about you today or tomorrow.

You also know what Orji wanted was a field or opportunity to serve- the purpose God created him on earth. You might have misunderstood his Kaduna mobilization years back. You might have misunderstood his willingness to separate Biafran forces from adminstrative leaders. You might have misunderstood his determination to build an army. Eventually, late Ojukwu recognized the necessity of an army and financed BNG while giving him 1967 military mandate the people gave him as he was closer to his grave then.

Innocent Orji had no leadership ambition whatsoever and was ready to secure Biafra and hand it over because his leadership and expertise are limited to military system. That ideology has not changed and in this inevitable period, positivity is all I demand of you.

If Innocent Orji was not destined for this; we both knew he would have died like others. Nobody has done or taken the kind of risk Innocent Orji took in the course of this agitation and it is only abnormal for him to still be breathing.

He is alive because of his destiny and that destiny will shine through. One year and two months in deadly Okuzu SARS. Poisoned foods that forced him to stay without eating for three months. The unanimous decision to eliminate him by the powers that be. Eleven years in prison and many others are simply extraordinary or divine to come out alive.

By virtue of announcing a live broadcast; it is clear he has arrived. His wife is still in prison and like a liquid soldier, nothing touches his courage or weighs him down. Against all odds, Innocent Orji arrived his destination and it is high time we all threw our weight behind him.

Throwing weight behind him does not mean you taking part by any means but doing what is expected of an emeritus. BNG is more than capable but silence will be golden instead of any form of verbal opposition or strategic breach. You have done your part. It is time to watch or continue to speak for the restoration of Biafra irrespective of unforseen circumstance.

The people of Biafra need Biafra and there is no price too costly for it. Everything should be geared towards restoring Biafra.

Finally, the history of Biafra will be incomplete without you. As a matter of fact; the chapter of Biafra of today can’t be opened without you. Your efforts brought us to this stage and you shall rightly be rewarded. You will always have your way and be honoured as a leader now and after restoration.

Doors of leadership in any capacity in a sovereign Biafra will always be open for you but let there be unity of purpose today. Let no one speak against Biafra for any reason. Even in our worst case scenario; Biafra should be defended by all means. There won’t or should not be Ojukwu versus Zik scenario again. Political and peaceful methodology should not breach on-course action.

Yours faithfully,
