The three Lions of England has advanced into the round of 16 after a thrashing of Panama 6-1 in the First stage – Group G match played at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in the FIFA World Cup going on in Russia.

With the latest result, the Los Canaleros of Panama is out after losing 0-3 to Belgium on June 18.

Harry Kane scored a hat-trick during the encounter, joining England’s World Cup hat-trick club after Geoff Hurst in 1966 and Gary Lineker in 1986.

Panama, meanwhile, also made history bagging their first ever World Cup finals goal.

It was something for Panama to cheer when Felipe Baloy, the oldest member of the squad and wearing the captain’s armband, slides in to turn the ball home.

Skipper Felipe Baloy made his World Cup debut as there was a combination of generations, too, with Ricardo Avila’s assist allowing Baloy to finish.

Panama’s World Cup debut dream of getting in the last 16, however, has expired after that amazing attacking exhibition by England.

Kane’s hat trick sealed the qualification for the Three Lions who had earlier  beaten Tunisia 2-1.

Gareth Southgate’s side took advantage of every Panamanian error in a first half where their defence wasn’t up to scratch.

Panama will close their World Cup participation, with the same goal as their next rival, Tunisia, which is saying goodbye with a victory.

From an England perspective, it could hardly have gone better, with an early goal calming any possible nerves before the game being wrapped up prior to half time.

It could so easily have been a resounding black mark on Panama’s dream trip to the finals, but their historic first ever goal – and going to a national team veteran in Felipe Baloy – gives the fans something to cherish from the outing.

This second half lacked the same intensity of the first half, which is unsurprising consider the result was largely set in stone.

So that goal from Panama added a burst of additional life into the closing stages.
