Belgium has qualified for quarter-final of the ongoing Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup after they dropped Japan in a rather extremely sensational win in the Round of 16 match played at Rostov Arena, Rostov-On-Don.

Japan has, on resumption from Half Time hit two quick successive goals in the 48th and 52nd minutes by Genki Haraguchi and Takashi Inui respectively.

The Red Devils started showing signs of tension and nervousness for the first time at the World Cup.

Eden Hazard, who rattled the post as Belgium tore straight into the Japanese box, appeared very frustrated in particular.

Then came the first goal from Jan Vertonghen in the 69th minutes while Marouane Fellaini followed up five minutes later.

The Belgum pressure started growing since the second goal, as they rediscovered their foothold in the game.

After some chaos in the box the ball drops towards Jan Vertonghen wide on the left, and only a few yards away from the byline, who heads a looping effort sensationally over Eiji Kawashima to nestle in the far top corner.

The heartbreaker came at the last minute of the match when Japan tore a powerful free-kick 3rd minute into the injury time.

Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois had to stretch full length to save the goal-bound ball, spiking it out for a corner kick.

The corner  kick turned into a nightmare as Belgium latched onto the ball in a swift counter-attack and a few minutes the rest is history.

Japan had evidently thought they were going to make history by reaching the quarter-finals, then had it snatched away from them with that Fellaini equaliser.

Then, with the positivity to try to snatch a last-gasp winner, choosing twist instead of stick has gone and cost them entirely.

Thus, Belgium went from 2 goals down to 3-2 up with last kick of the game and now set for quarter-final with Brazil.

This is the first time a side has come from 2-0 down to win in the knockout stages since 1970, when Germany FR beat England 3-2.

It has only happened six times in history, including ‘The Miracle of Berne’ Final of 1954, when Germany FR beat Hungary.
