Why I initiated #HarassBuhariOutofLondon protest —Omokri
Mr. Reno Omokri, a Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has explained why he initiated #HarassBuhariOutofLondon protest.
Recall that Mr. Omokri, along with other Nigerians, had on April 2, commenced the #HarassBuhariOutofLondon protest after President Muhammadu Buhari traveled to the United Kingdom on March 31 for medical check-up.
ElombahNews had, on April 2, reported that Nigerians in the United Kingdom planned a protest against the medical trip embarked upon by the Nigerian President on March 31, 2021, with the hashtag #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon.
Announcing his intention to join the protest, Mr. Omokri posted serially on Twitter:
“If you can name one hospital initiated, started, and completed by General @MBuhari since 2015, I will cancel #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon. Over to you, Buharists. I am waiting. Otherwise, Join me tomorrow at Abuja House, 12 PM to chase the Butcher of #LekkiMassacre out of London.”
“Would @BorisJohnson still be British Prime Minister if he failed to build hospitals in Britain, yet went to Nigeria to treat himself? Why are we Nigerians willing to accept from Buhari what the others won’t take from their leaders Join me tomorrow for #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon.”
Explaining further why he embarked on the protest, he tweeted:
- “Today, judiciary workers went on strike
- Last week, doctors went on strike
- 1800 prisoners escaped from a prison
- Bandits have taken over 100 communities in Shiroro, Niger [State]
- Communities in Sokoto now pay tax to bandits
- And @MBuhari is on holiday in London.”
He ended the tweet with the hasgtag: “#HarassBuhariOutofLondon“
