Information has surfaced over what may have prompted the recent appointment of Nuhu Ribadu as Special Adviser on Security by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Prior to the appointment, it could be recalled that Ribadu had always enjoyed a special preference with Tinubu ever since he left office as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In 2011, Tinubu had featured him as the presidential candidate of his then party, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), formerly known as Action Congress (AC).

Unsurprisingly, when Tinubu’s ACN merged with Muhammadu Buhari’s All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and others and metamorphosed into the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ribadu moved with Tinubu to the new party and even vied for governorship seat of the party in his state, Adamawa.

“Why would Tinubu give presidential tickets to someone who lacks capacity to win governorship primary election in his state?” asked an observer on social media?

The answer to that question may have been found in the attached video below:

Evidently, Ribadu has a full dossier on the now Nigerian president that Tinubu will like to have him closer that otherwise.

According to reports, he once boasted that he, as the former EFCC henchman, has what it takes to bring Tinubu down over his alleged corrupt practices as the former governor of Lagos State.

In the meantime, Tinubu has suspended and arrested the last EFCC Chairman, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa.

According to a report published by News Band on June 15, Bawa had, at the behest of the suspended EFCC Acting Executive Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, initiated a secret investigation into the affairs of Tinubu.

Although details of the investigation were not contained in the document with file number: CR: 3000/EECC/LS/CMU/TAF/VOL. 4/322, it showed, however, that the leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission investigated Tinubu, albeit discreetly.

As soon as he assumed office as the 16th President of Nigeria, Tinubu not only showed him the way out, but sent his attack dogs, the Department of State Security (DSS) who arrested him immediately.
